Hub City Theatre Company Introduces Stipends for 2025 Season

When we first started Hub City Theatre Company, we were driven by a simple but powerful goal: to create a space where both artists and audiences could come together to experience something new, different, and memorable. Odd shows in intimate spaces. 

Over the years, we’ve worked hard to grow as a company, always keeping in mind the people behind the scenes—our actors, designers, and technicians—who make it all happen. Today, I’m thrilled to announce that for the first time in our history, we’ll be offering stipends to those incredible individuals who bring our productions to life.

In 2025, Hub City Theatre will provide stipends to actors, designers, and technicians for their hard work:

• Actors will receive a $25 stipend for their participation in each show.

• Technicians and Designers will receive stipends ranging from $50 to $100, depending on the demands of their role.

It’s not much—certainly not a true reflection of the talent and dedication these artists give to every production—but it’s a start.These stipends will help cover some of the time and expenses that come with working on our shows. While we acknowledge that this amount does not fully account for the true costs and dedication that our team puts into their craft, we want to take this first step as a way to affirm that their work matters A small but important way to show that we value the work they do, and that we recognize the time and effort they put in to make our theatre what it is. 

At Hub City, we’ve always believed that theatre is a collaborative process. From the actors on stage to the crew behind the scenes, everyone plays a vital part in creating the magic. And while we know that many of our artists work out of passion and love for the craft, we also know that their time is valuable. This new initiative is just the beginning of what we hope will be an ongoing effort to provide better support to the people who make Hub City Theatre special.

It’s also a step toward a more sustainable future for our company. As we continue to grow, we want to find more ways to make this work not just possible, but rewarding for everyone involved.

I couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve done over the past few years, and I’m so excited about what’s to come. With a full 2025 season ahead, we’re setting our sights on new challenges and opportunities—and I’m eager to continue supporting the amazing artists who make our productions come to life.
